PETROGLYPHS IN THE SKY
It is the year a.d. 1200.

In Europe there is war and gunpowder is trying hard to equal the bow and arrow.

Another three hundred years and Columbus will discover the Western World.

From a summit of South Mountain we look down into a Valley of Cibola. East and West are green fields and shining water to the limits of vision. Great Pueblos, fifteen or
twenty of them, each surrounded by innumerable family hogans are in sight. And people, a MIGHTY mobile tribe. Long haired and clean bodied, well clothed for the time
and climate. Carefree and contented. Secure in numbers and against war, secure in food and shelter, they dominate the whole surrounding country. Only to the Tribal
Fathers and Priest of the old homeland do they concede allegiance. For they are the northern frontier of the Grate Mayan Race whose central government is in the Vally
of Gold, where Mexico City now stands. With them had come a knowledge of building, irrigation, farming, and various arts of peace and war. Also Priest with Sacred
Gold, sun images of men and animals, prayer rings, and ornaments past numbering. Sacred use and ornament was gold's only value. The Priests accepted gold from
other tribes in trade for corn at equal measure. A handful of corn for a handful of gold.

For centuries such trade went on until the gold and the Cities of Cibola were known to every tribe within a thousand miles, and the corn of Cibola was grown across the
continent. Where far off New England states are now the English found it growing when they came. In South Mountain were caverns washed out by floods, blown out by
volcano's, or formed by earthquake. Some of these, enlarged and improved, were used for sacred rites. And here were stored the gold and the corn for trade and seed.
Here the people came to Councils of all kinds. They were not Sun Worshipers, but they feared the Sun as a tyrant god who required human sacrifices. With him were
demons cast into the mountain to make sure things went his way. The gods of life and death, flying serpents and formations in the sky ,came from  the earth, up from
the earth came all life, and back to the earth all life returned. Motherhood, human and animal, was of the spiral whirlwind which brought life pollen from the earth and
scattered it in the air. Only a Priest could call a spirit for irrigation main to make the water run. When trees shook they made the wind blow. When flowers came they
brought the summer. The stone hoe, used without handle, was their chief implement. It planted and cultivated crops, dug canals, and built pueblos and hogans. (
Pueblos were roofed and hogans framed with stalks of the sahuaro and canes of the Wa Ta Mota, a native bamboo.) It was a knife for skinning game or scaling fish
and an effective weapon for close fighting. Dried thorns of the yucca leaf made arrow points. Corn was ground in stone metate with a mano held in the hand. For food
they returned by dropping a little on the ground. There language had no word obscene of profane. Life after death was sure for all. Even animals would live again in
spirit form. Superstition Mountains was the tribal home of the Pimas. Peaceable, industrious people who traded much and learned much from the Mayans. An
occasional raid by the wiled Apaches of the northern mountains was the only hint of war. One day ( for reasons unknown ) they rebelled against the Sun. The tyrant
god, they refused his annual tribute of human lives and human harts torn out. All prisoners taken in war had suffered such fate, held face up across the convexed
sacrificial stone. But now by Council of the Priests and tribal acclaim, Apache prisoners were free until the Apache Nation named South Mountain " SUAPPOA "  Mount
of Mercy. Then the sun in anger threw a missile at the earth. Some say a Grate meteor fell. A Navajo tradition says " The Devil came of the sky from the east and took
the people away ". Thousands of times greater than any meteor known to man, its air concussion laid flat every tree, pueblo and hogan not protected by mountains
walls. Life, human and animal, vanished as though by tidal wave. Dust and suffocating as though by tidal wave. Dust and suffocating gases filled the air and covered the
earth. Floods came and torrents of rain. The rain washed out and cleared the air. Floods went dry. The sun appeared and looked down on the earth and its ruins.
Mountains, ravines, deep valleys and caverns, had saved a few alive. But of the Mayan tribe nine-tenths were gone. The remnant gathered at South Mountain and to the
sacred caverns. The Priests were called and given time to speak. All admitted they had offended the sun, they were told to mark the stone for the next tribes and then
offered their harts on the sacrificial stone. The sacred gold was piled and measured. From and dimensions are interpreted by modern Mayans as " Round like the sun,
high as man, the tallest Sahuaro could lie on its top." In weight it is in estimated tons. The cavern was filled and buried, " gods " of the earth implored to guard the gold.
Then all the people started on the long trail to the land of their fathers. Slow and hard the journey was. Once they stopped on the fertile lands where Coolidge now
stands. Here they thought to stay. Some years they worked, irrigated, farmed, and built the fortress storehouse called " Casa Grand " But again they took up the
journey south. To the tribes of Arizona they are still the Hohokam, meaning " The people who were took away." In the deep ravines of the Superstitions Mountain the
Pimas had suffered but little lose of life. But the raging elements to them meant War between the gods of the earth and air. The whole tribe fled in panic from the
mountains and found safety in the desolated land of the Mayans. Fear of their former home grew until it became a permanent belief that death waited in those
mountains for all who entered them.  There in the jungle lands of Yucatan the story was told. The hiding place of the sacred Gold made known to the Priests and they
kept the secret to this day, though some imperfect and misleading fragments of the real tradition have crept out to guide the seeker wrongly. The custom of human
sacrifice on the convexed sacrificial stone received new confirmation, never again to be doubted until white men came to stop it. Every Indian tribe in the Southwest
had legends of the cities and Gold of Cibola. But the savage ferocity of the Spaniards at the sight of Gold was bitterly known to the Mayans, the Aztecs and the Incas,
and from the hated white man could get no truthful information. But acting on the word of other and more distant tribes in 1539 Fr. Marcos DeNiza traveled on foot from
Mexico City to northwest New Mexico and back in search of this Gold. He passed South Mountain and inscribed the DeNiza rock with his own name; claimed the
country from there to coast for the King of Span; dated his inscription 1539 and traveled on, not guessing how close he was to the Gold he sought. In 1540 Coronado
with an army searched much longer but found no Gold. The Cities are now adobe mounds. Two hundred miles of prehistoric irrigation remains may still be traced. The
Gold is where the Hohokam left it, guarded by the sun gods servant's,in the mighty walls of the " Suappoa " Mountain. After DeNiza no white man saw South Mountain
for one hundred and fifty years. Then in 1694 Padre Kino came baptizing Indians. Another Padre was later killed by enemy Indians on a summit now called Padre Hill or
Four Crosses. The spot is marked by four sun blackened stone crosses. Modern Pimas believe this Padre, robed and scandaled, who's ghost still walks the hills and
leaves tracks in the sand. Another one hundred and fifty years brings us to 1838 and the first Americans, fur trappers and frontiersmen. Twenty-five miles or nearly
16,000 acres of South Mountain Park is owned by the City of Phoenix and is supposed to be the largest municipally owned park in the United States. Gold seeking is
now prohibited by Federal Law. In 1933 the Government moved four hundred young men of the Civilian Conservation Corps into the mountains and began a
development that did modernizing of  South Mountain. In doing so they were mislead on the meaning of the rock art, and like the Spanish did to the Mayan hall of
records, they destroyed most of the story. This is why we don't understand the meaning of the petroglyph's or the  " Phoenix lights."   To not understand our past is
said to not understand whats to come ... Because of this it was just  " flares "  to some people ,  if they would only study HISTORY then they would understand .... What
we are dealing with here is something supernatural ... Something that was here at the beginning of time ... And now, they have become restless ... I have sat at that
mountain and i have seen ... To understand this you MUST study the past... Only people who have not seen do not believe ...<but in time they will> The people who have
seen has the power to understand ... Has the power to change  there way of thinking ... Because KNOWLEDGE is power ...  Once your eyes are reopened..theres no
going back ...   I have seen many UFOs in my life time and this is what led me to find out what was going on in our skies, born and raised in phoenix i had to find out what
was going on. So in 2004 i set out on a quest to find out as much as i could on UFOs and the history that fallowed. They say a space ship went over the Vally in 1997, but
studying them in the summer of 2004 i believe each LIGHT  is the being. In 2005 i moved close to south mountain to get a better look. I never saw a  space ship but a life
form coming from within the mountain. The story on the mountain saids that the spirits live within the mountain.... Sitting by this mountain i believe its true ... For
century's mankind has wondered if he was alone ?? ... If he only knew they have been watching us from the mountains in our own back yards this whole time, and the
people before us knew ...For they carved what the spirits looked liked on the rocks and carved spirals to mark there doors ... They understood the sun to know when
the spirits would be near.  All we have to do now is sit and watch and see what happens next.  i can only think about what my son will see next as time goes by . As for
myself, i will never look at mountains < or trees > the same again ...

A SAGA AT SOUTH MOUNTAIN,
AT NIGHT YOU'LL HEAR AN INDIAN DRUM,
AND CHANTING OF AN INDIAN SONG,
IN DEEP ARROYO SHADE YOU'LL MEET,
THE SPIRIT OF HALF BARE INDIAN FEET,
WHERE ROCKS LIKE WALLS SUNBLACKENED STAND,
ARE WRITINGS MADE BY INDIAN HAND,
THIS THE VOICE OF THE HOHOKAM,
THIS FOOTPRINTS OF THE PEOPLE GONE,
HAND WRITINGS ON THE WALLS YOU SEE,
ARE INDIAN MESSAGES TO THEE,
THE GOD OF EARTH IS WATCHING HERE,
AND THE GUARDING SUN SPIRITS ARE NEAR ....

I READ THIS IN THE HILLS AT NIGHT,
I WONDER IF ONE WORD IS TRUE, ??
THE MOON WAS LOW,
THE STARS WERE DIM,

FROM SILENCE CAME A WHISPERING ......

"WATCH THESE HILLS AS HE HAS DONE, AND YOU'LL SEE THE PHANTOMS TOO "
