Ley Lines are alleged alignments in a number of places that are of ‘geographical interest’, such as ancient
monuments and megaliths that are believed to have spiritual power and certain energy points.
The existence of ‘Ley Lines’ was suggested by the amateur archaeologist Alfred Watkins.
In 1921, Alfred Watkins was travelling around the country looking and taking notice of the places where ‘the’
ancestors has set up their most important and more usually, religious based structures.
Including in these were the Early Churches, Burial mounds, Earthworks, Holy Wells and Standing Stones.
He observed that they seemed to connected by trackways in straight lines, which he referred to as ‘Ley Lines’ or
‘Ley’.
More can be found on Alfred Watkins in his book, “The Old Straight Track.”
However, Ley Hunters who followed up on Alfred Watkins original work, use the alignments they chart on the maps
to then examine the detail ‘in the field’.
Among the most sacred sites such as,”Stonehenge” and “Glastonbury” are often found to be at the junctions of
several such lines.
It appeared obvious that Alfred Watkins had only speculated that these tracks were in the manner of Roman
Roads, which for the Romans, made efficient routes of travel across the country, but, speculation was soon raised
that the straight lines reflected lines of energy and that, intuitively, or deliberately, earlier “Civilisations” had built
these sacred structures on these specific energy points.
Many ‘Dowsers’ have found that they can ‘dowse’ from the lines of energy that were represented by the Ley Lines.
U.F.O. Sightings Connected To Ley Lines
Back in the 1960′s, U.F.O. researcher John Michell suggested that UFO sightings were occurring at the crossing
points of, “Ley Lines” which are situated in close proximity to the sacred sites.
With this information, great speculation was formed regarding that the energies found in Ley Lines were indeed
magnetic, and used by ‘flying saucers’ for either navigation or propulsion, ( the act of moving an object through the
air).
It is also believed by UFO experts that ‘sightings’ of UFO’s could be charted in straight lines:
“Ley Lines.”
